Easy Red, White & Blue Cookies for July 4th

Whatever your plans are for the Fourth of July, we’re confident we can make them a little sweeter with these patriotic cookies. This dessert screams red, white and blue, and it’s truly a savor-every-bite treat people will love.

The recipe is so simple, and most of the ingredients are probably in your pantry and refrigerator already. Let’s get down to baking.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 1/4 cups flour

  • 1 tsp. baking soda

  • 1/4 tsp. salt

  • 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1 cup butter, salted

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 2/3 cup brown sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 tsp. vanilla

  • 1 bag red, white, and blue holiday M&M mix

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Mix flour, baking soda, salt and cocoa powder. Set aside.

  2. Cream butter and sugars.

  3. Mix in eggs and vanilla.

  4. Fold in dry ingredients one cup at a time.

  5. Mix in 3/4 of the bag of Red White and Blue M&M's

  6. Roll dough into balls.

  7. Press a few of the remaining red, white, and blue M&M's into the ball.

  8. Bake for 9-11 minutes at 350 degrees.
