5 Trends For Getting A Head Start On Summer Decorating

It might seem hard to believe, but school is almost over… and summer is almost here!

Even if you’re not quite ready to change out décor or purchase new furniture for summer, we want to chat about some major trends we’re seeing this year. We hope this will give you a head start when you’re ready for a summer switch-up!

Bistro Sets

Let’s talk about this simple solution for smaller porches. Bistro sets allow you to sit outside and get some Vitamin D without taking up too much space. They can serve the exact same purpose as a larger table, just on a smaller scale. Bistro sets are truly great for a space of any size. We even love them for large patios or decks! If you have more room to spare, they’re a wonderful accent piece for your main table and chairs.

Solar Lighting

Is there anything not to admire about solar lights? They’re ideal for both big and small spaces. They’re a green alternative, and at this time of the year, they’ll have plenty of sunlight to stay powered up. With so many different styles to choose from, solar lighting is the perfect way to light up your porch this summer!

Planters

Fun planters are always in style, and this summer is no exception! From unique patterns and textures to wittily worded ones, there are plenty of planters to match your style. In 2019, we particularly love hanging planters. This option shows off beautiful blooms in a whole new way and in spaces you don’t usually find them.

Rattan

Perhaps it’s the fact it’s made from palm stems, but there’s just something about rattan that makes you think about summer. Rattan pieces (or pieces with rattan accents) have a natural, warm look that suits the season. They also have a more unique style that will make your space stand out from other summer setups.

Hygge

Hygge is a Danish word for “cozy.” We know cozy might invoke a sense of curling up under a pile of blankets, but it doesn’t have to. Comfort during the summer months can be in the form of stylish new throw pillows or smaller blankets that breathe. Both of those items can come in bright colors that are seasonally appropriate.
